Andrew de Silva
Andrew was a career military officer who has spent almost 10 years in the development and acquisition of cutting-edge defence technology, and another decade in leading and managing operational units of up to 2500 men. From his 23 years experience in the Army, and in positions where he had to counsel, motivate and challenge countless soldiers and officers (both men and women), he has synthesised many practical fundamental tools and strategies to help maximize individual and team performance, and measurably accelerate the pace at which one can achieve personally-held goals and objectives. This, coupled with his insight into technological development, acquisition and application, together with the high-level international negotiations required to execute the mega-projects, has given Andrew a deep understanding of the dynamics of business and the art of people management.
He has conducted countless team-building events, and has raised a new military unit of more than 2000-strong, and solidified its cohesion and camaraderie. He relishes the opportunity to bring out the spontaneity in the people who work with him.
He had the honour of being the 2001 National Day Parade Commander and served this appointment with distinction.
